Skunk-Off Shampoo

Works well:This product worked very well. I bought a bottle to have on hand and am sooo glad that I did. Our dog got sprayed and the smell was horrendous. We immediately wiped off as much as we could then lathered him up with this product. We ended up washing him 3 times before drying him off but by the time we were done the smell was pretty much gone. I will always have a bottle of this on hand now! Lather:This product lathered up very well and the smell was very nice.

Well, bought this years ago to have in the house as a precaution. We let the dog out into the (fenced) yard at night to do his business, and even though we have a flood light, skunks are small and dark which makes them hard to see at night.Saw the dog run full force towards skunk and would not recall, needless to say he did a sudden turn when he got about 4 inches away. Skunk 1, dog 0, direct hit to the face.Applied Skunk off as directed, first used a towel to wipe as much oil off as possible before applying and then rinsing, twice. It took off about 90% of the offending smell. It was enough that we could bring him to the groomer in the am after doing a baking soda/peroxide/dish soap bath to get rid of the remaining 10%. We weren’t successful, he still smelled skunky when you sniffed around one ear, but it was good thing we had it as he was sprayed after the stores were closed for the evening.The only suggestion would be making a spray nozzle for the 8oz as it was kind of difficult to apply to a squirming dog by pouring, so I have since bought the larger size that comes with a spray nozzle.

If your dogs have a tendency to get skunked, this is a great product to keep on hand. It works well. Uploaded a picture of one of my dogs after a bath with this product after being skunked. He has no reqrets. He would do it all again.

Amazing, my dogs were sprayed twice in one week. We ordered this after the first time to get a slight odor from there head. Then the second time they were sprayed, we applied it outside and brought them in a rinsed them off. Unbelievable difference, must buy.

First, if you are reading this review, I sympathize with your present circumstances. We have two curious doggos who get skunked at least twice a year on their morning walks. We’ve tried everything and this is the only thing that truly works. We always have a spare bottle, just in case.

This product is great! I’ve used it a couple times and always keep a couple bottles on hand to share with others when an incident occurs. One bath is all it takes!

Our dog encountered a skunk in the backyard. It was 2:30 a.m. when the entire family woke up from the strong skunk odor. Since I didn't get this product until later that morning. I used dishsoap, peroxide and baking soda. This helped until I received the shampoo and washed him again with it. It took the skunk smell all the way out. I also used this to clean his bedding and the carpet he was rubbing himself on. Worked great with no skunk odor residue. If you have a dog, get this BEFORE you need it, so you dont suffer like we did. This is great stuff and worth the money. No skin irritation to the dog and no lingering skunk smell.

This works very well. There will always be a lingering aftermath, no matter what you use. 2 days in a row I used on my Border/Heeler and all was pretty good.Had to do it again a year later, this time I had it on hand and it worked even better

I buy Skunk Off by the gallon. My dog thinks skunks should be shaken. Skunk Off is very effective at removing Skunk odor. I have used other enzyme odor removers, but Skunk Off is much more effective.As soon as the dog get sprayed, I pour Skunk Off over the entire area. I saturate the fur and rub it in until it lathers. Then I let it sit for 5 minutes or more.Since my dog hates baths, I then squirt her down with shampoo. I lather her up with the shampoo. I use a strong perfumed dog shampoo. One made for smelly farm dogs.Then I rinse thoroughly. My dog does not like to be sprayed with water. The rinsing off part is the hardest. I make sure there is no soap residue left on the dog. Between the Skunk Off and the shampoo, the dog has no lingering odor.My dog usually encounters skunks in a pasture away from the house. So I do not have to deal with the dog going back to the area and rolling in the Skunk spray residue.I use the Skunk Off premise cleaner to remove Skunk odor from clothing and collars. I soak these in the Skunk off premise solution. The clothing I soak for an hour and then launder as usual. Collars are soaked in the solution and washed with dish washing liquid. I find that soaking a canvas collar for at least an hour will remove the odor. A good washing with dish soap and the collar is ready for use.I would recommend that you buy Skunk Off before you need it. The gallon bottle guarantees you will have enough to treat the dog and get the smell out. I also keep a gallon of the premise Skunk Off to treat clothing and collars. It is just a necessity here in the country. Dogs will find skunks and they will get sprayed. Skunk odor is the worst odor to deal with. Make sure you have a product that will work. It just makes the job much easier.

10 stars! works exactly as promised.. easy and removed the skunk odor... wished the dog got the message not continue to roll in the area where the skunk originally sprayed, but this was a miracle! So glad I had it at the ready so I didn't have to search for peroxide (and risk turning my dog red!)

So I bought this preemptively as I feared my dog would encounter a skunk sooner or later. Sure enough, he got blasted in the face and I was so happy I already had something for it. This stuff doesn't smell, great, but it's a million times better than skunk. It helped tremendously to apply it immediately and I was so happy it was safe for eyes. He was still a bit stinky, but this did a great job getting the skunk oils out of him. Bought a second bottle to have for when he decides to pick another fight.

We live on a farm with in a fenced in area for our dogs. Last time a pup got skunked School sent my kid home and my coworkers sent my wife home so I needed something new. Well it happened, 4 am potty time…. Skunked! THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING. Took 90% the smell out of very quickly as I hosed my dog off outside. You can use on their face and all over. I was so happy to be able to let her inside without stinking up the house. Showering her, then took most of the rest of the stink out. I don’t think you can ever get 100% of skunk smell off, but this really worked amazingly and got 98-99% off. I love it so much. I went immediately to Amazon and bought the gallon jug of this so I will never run out!!! Hands down the best product I’ve ever found!

I live out in no ware Tx, I let my two labs dogs out around midnight about 30 minutes they came back in smelling like a skunk. When it was daylight I took a walk to a pound they have access to, all I see is allot of skunk fur and area smelt like skunk and bones.My the dog called Ninja dog starts to roll in it.I ordered this Skunk off 8 ozWhen opened the box it had an overwhelming aroma I was sure if the smell was any better than the skunk.But when I others smell it they thought smelled good. I opened the bottle it didn’t smell anything like the overwhelming smellIt was nice smelling, I washed the first lab only a little amount, then the Ninja dog next I ended finishing the bottle on him .Both dogs smell nice now I will oder again just to have it on hand for the next run in with a shrunk . I’m going to try the spray I hopes it get the skunk residue from my carpet

BEST STUFF EVER! Our cat got skunk! This stuff is the best! My brother-in-law had used it in the past on his 2 dogs and said this stuff really works! So, I ordered a bottle of it and kept it on hand for just one of those... in case! And oh boy did it come in handy that night when my cat got skunk! He got skunked in the face and this stuff is so gentle but strong enough to get rid of the smell! I ordered another bottle to keep on hand!

Product works freat

This product definitely helped with the horrible skunk smell-my dog has very short hair. Just every once in awhile I get a slight smell but for the most part the smell is gone. I was skeptical but would use again.(hopefully I don’t have too)

Definitely helps get rid of the skunk smell pretty quick. It’s safe to use on pets too. Vets sell this product at a much higher price.

Our GSD had an unfortunate encounter with Pepe’ La Pew and he got her good on her neck. We tried a similar product with little success. After one bath with Skunk Off the smell from her shoulders to her tail was gone. She was really bad from her shoulders to her nose. Second bath and the smell there was gone. Will be reordering to keep it on hand.

It actually works! My mom's dog got skunked. It was horrible! We tried stuff you read on Google but none of that worked then I stumbled upon a veterinary clinics website and they said to use this. It comes out like water. So be prepared it has an odd smell but the dog no longer get smelled like skunk!!!

I have used this product a lot. I had a GSD that liked her skunks. I stopped counting after 13 times. This happens late at night and you should have the product a head of time. When you need it, it is NOW. Got gallon size so I could share with my dog owning friends and family.

Skunk Off shampoo worked great to remove skunk spray odor on my 2 dogs! Definitely recommend this product!!

We live in the foothills of California. We have a small family of skunks that come to visit us in the summer. Our dog is always curious of them. He never hurts them, just wants to be friends with the cute, but stinky animals. He has been sprayed twice, this shampoo works wonders getting the smell out. Just make sure to put the shampoo on first, BEFORE adding any water. Water spreads the smell. We do shampoo first, rub in well, add more shampoo, then rinse. The spray is awesome for rugs and furniture.

honestly i am shocked by how well this works. i will always have a bottle of it on hand.i have needed to do a few applications on occasion and you REALLY have to massage it in down to the skin, and LET IT SIT - at LEAST 5 min!!!! but it is the best stuff i’ve used. my dogs love to try and make friends with the skunks and it’s not like i can make a midnight groomer appointment. if you’ve ever had a skunked dog in your house overnight, you know that smell sticks to EVERYTHING and just LINGERS. so having this on hand to bathe them right away, has been a life saver. it even worked well on the dog’s collars that i thought i would have to throw away!Worth every penny, rinses clean quickly, and has a strong but pretty pleasant smell. also left my dogs very silky and soft, and did not seem to irritate their skin or paws at all.2026 update - this is still my go to for deskunk!!! the last time one of my girlies got skunked in the late afternoon, i was able to bring her to the groomer. she came home and still had that lingering skunk stink on her neck. a waste of nearly $100. i gave her one good bath and scrub down with this stuff, massaged it in, made her sit in the bathroom with it for 5-10 minutes and then rinsed her off. she smells like a new dog that’s never met a skunk in her life. i am not sure why this stuff gets such mixed reviews - because as a homeowner who has a neighbor who refuses to trap the skunks on her property that live under her deck, i just ordered another bottle. this stuff frickin WORKS and has been a life saver!!!
